Why I practice:
I practice yoga to learn about my body, to give myself time and space for grounding and integration, and to explore how breath helps me with these other objectives.
Why I teach yoga:
I teach yoga because I love being able to share the practice with others. As a facilitator, it brings me joy to practice with others in a class setting, where we're all able to discover and experiment together.
What to expect from my class:
As a teacher, I aim to create a grounded and encouraging class environment with a balance of information, experimentation, and playfulness. I prioritize my students’ agency and offer extensive alignment-based verbal cues to help build body awareness. I am a slow sequencer, and I enjoy longer holds that give students enough time to work on breath and alignment from the ground up. My classes incorporate challenging variations and opportunities to try new things while also normalizing students’ decision to do what feels best in their bodies without pushing too hard. I see myself as a workshop facilitator and collaborator more than an instructor, offering supportive cues and adjustments focused on safety and consent. I like to check in with students in real time as well as after class, and I incorporate music as a tool for energizing and grounding throughout the practice.
